How to convert HEIC to PDF in your browser

How does HEIC to PDF decode photos safely?

HEIC is what recent iPhones save by default. When desktop software refuses to open those files, this page decodes the primary image in memory inside this browser tab, flattens its transparent pixels onto white, and stores the frame as JPEG at quality 92. This keeps the decoded pixel width and height, but it does not preserve the original HEIC compression stream.

Only the primary image in each file becomes a page. Live Photos, burst frames, and depth maps are not carried across, so a motion photo arrives as a single still page. The verifier reopens the completed PDF and checks every page size and embedded image dimension before the download appears.

Each decoded photo is stored as JPEG at quality 92, which keeps the picture readable at print size without carrying the full uncompressed frame. Phone photos are large all the same, so a PDF built from twenty of them will not be small.
